The Untold Story of Pentecostalism, Manipulation, and Witchcraft in the Church

Have you ever experienced manipulation in the church? Do you feel that your pastor may be playing games with your soul? Do you feel the strong presence of witchcraft in your church? Have you ever wondered how the Pentecostal church started and why there is no mention of tongues in the Bible? If you are interested in learning more about these things, this article will expose the hidden secrets of Pentecostalism, manipulation and witchcraft in the church. After reading this article, there should be no doubt left as to why this evil empire has infiltrated the Christian Church like it has.

Part 1: What happened at Azusa Street?

The Azusa Street Revival is considered by many to be the beginning of Pentecostalism. Unfortunately, it’s also riddled with stories about manipulation and lies that were done for power. And what about all those people who claim to have healing powers? Is there a difference between real miracles and sorcery? Let’s explore!

If you’re looking for an example of how easy it is to mix fact and fantasy at Azusa street, consider Frank Bartleman. Born Frank Hettinger Bartleman, he was one of the first volunteers at Azusa street as well as a published author on his experience (1909). While he remains respected in some churches today, others see him as manipulative and false. The main allegations revolve around his work Azusa Street: An Eyewitness Account (1906) where he speaks highly of himself while barely mentioning God or other spiritual leaders present at the revival. Some have even gone so far as to call him a liar and charlatan. His contemporaries didn’t agree with that assessment, but they did acknowledge that he had personal issues that led him down strange paths such as denying Christ’s death on the cross. Even if we assume that everything Bartleman said about Azusa street was true, there are still problems with his account. For instance, much of what he wrote seems unlikely given what we know about William Seymour—the leader of Azusa Street who has been described by historians like Robert Mapes Anderson as having no charisma whatever... [and] no pretensions to spiritual gifts; nor does he ever claim any in print. He merely says that when people pray for them, they come. In other words, Seymour was not into manipulating anyone into believing anything. He simply believed in prayer and its power. This leads us to wonder why Bartleman would make up stories about Seymour forcing people to do things like drink poison and jump off roofs? Was he just being mean? Or perhaps something else entirely? It turns out that Bartleman never really attended Azusa Street services until after it became famous (he worked as a missionary in China from 1903-1905). After returning home, he began studying at Moody Bible Institute where he learned from D.L. Moody's son R.A Moody who happened to be friends with Charles Parham —one of Azusa's founders!

Part 2: The origins of modern Pentecostalism

What many believe to be a biblically based movement has far more sinister origins. It began with a man named Charles Parham who claimed to receive an angelic visitation instructing him that speaking in tongues was needed for salvation. However, his claims are unsubstantiated as he did not keep any records of these so-called revelations nor did anyone witness or document them at that time. On top of that it had never been documented or mentioned in scripture. The movement quickly gained popularity as new denominations were started by other people claiming to have received similar instructions from God’s angels.

What most people are not aware of is that it didn’t start as a religious movement. Rather, it was started by John Alexander Dowie who had already established himself as a doctor and faith healer. In addition to preaching speaking in tongues as a necessary tool for salvation he also preached against doctors while establishing his own hospitals. He would also claim that his followers were immune to certain diseases such as cholera and smallpox while telling others they were free to drink poison with no ill effects. It seems odd then that he should begin preaching these things if he was truly being visited by angels or messengers from God. Unfortunately, many people have died trusting these false claims made by men seeking wealth and power. If you don’t believe me just Google Azusa Street Revival Deaths and see what you find. A simple reading of Acts 2:1-13 shows us that it is through signs, wonders, miracles, healings etc.,that we come to know Jesus Christ. Not through signs like falling down on our knees or barking like dogs but actual miracles where someone could be healed physically and live because of God's work among us! For those wanting more information on healing I recommend looking into Benny Hinn's healing crusades. See what happened when undercover reporters went in to investigate his so called healings for themselves.

But I digress. The most important point being that speaking in tongues was never recorded as a requirement for salvation until modern times, nor did it come from scripture like many believe. When God wanted to send his angels or disciples to people he would instruct them specifically on what to do and say according to scripture. If you look at Acts 2:1-13 again you will see how Peter said they were filled with joy and began speaking with other languages as it was coming upon them. It was after they had witnessed what Jesus Christ had done first hand that they experienced an outpouring of God’s love through healing, miracles etc., They were not told by an angel what do but rather saw Jesus do these things first hand so that they may believe just as He did!

Part 3: Evil spirits in our midst

Spirit-baptism or being filled with an evil spirit is what charismatic churches teach as part of their doctrine. Evil spirits are also referred to as demons or unclean spirits by those who adhere to this teaching. This same belief can be found throughout other cults within Christianity as well. The problem with teaching people that they have evil spirits is that it gives license for other preachers/pastors/teachers to manipulate church members into giving them money or doing things they wouldn't normally do if they didn't have a belief that there was a demon attached to them making them act like they did in the first place. For example: some televangelists take advantage of people by promising these evil spirits will leave someone if you send them enough money for their ministry.

Some claim that they're just acting under a spiritual gift. The reality is that evil spirits can't be cast out by some preachers because they don't even believe what they're preaching. Some of these same pastors/teachers also push their flocks to give them money so they can help them with their unclean spirits or demons. There are some preachers/pastors who really do believe that people are filled with unclean spirits or demons and those evil entities will leave once they're prayed over by such pastors or teachers. This is why it's important for Christians to study and understand God's word for themselves instead of relying on others for answers about spiritual matters. It's also important for Christians to remember that it was Jesus Christ who gave us authority over all things including evil spirits. If we have authority over evil spirits then there should be no need for us to seek someone else out as an intermediary between us and God when dealing with uncleansed spirits or demons. After all, we have direct access to God through Jesus Christ our Lord without having someone stand between us and Him as an intermediary.

Part 4: Steps to Freedom From Demonic Control

What to Do if You’re Being Possessed by a Demon or Controlled by Demons: As Jesus taught us throughout his earthly ministry, we are given power over demons. We have authority over them. This is why we need to remember that they are cowards; they flee from humans—they know our spiritual authority. If you realize you’re experiencing demonic influence or demonic possession then please understand that there is hope. Jesus is Lord over all things (including death), which means He also has power over any type of demon no matter how strong it may seem when we don’t understand how to deal with it.
